Re: Deep sea fishing, St Lucia
Tried the ginger tablets as per Mythbusters, did not help at all and puking ginger was not fun.

Have a yak, you'll be fine afterwards. Please have someone take photos of your green face.

Re: Deep sea fishing, St Lucia
Sounds like a plan.
I will never forget my lecture on the subject years ago.
The lecturer was a proper lady in the way she carried herself always.
She said that when you're sea sick and hurling your guts over board, it's best to get it out but when you feel something warm and hairy at the back of your throat, swallow hard! It's your other end coming out!
Took me a minute to realise what she said in that prim and proper tone of hers.live out your imagination , not your history.

I suspect KK, might be able to recommend the needed cocktail, for your adventure.
Many years back, my dad and I went deep sea fishing, a chemist friend, recommended a certain combination of medicines. Two youngsters of our group decided not to partake in said medicine.... result being, three days of .... clinging to the deck, talking to GEORGE a LOT< praying to die... zero fishing for them."Trespassers will be welcomed, and served a light lunch"

Seasickness: at first you are afraid you will die, eventually you pray you will.
Apparently a sure cure for seasickness is standing under the nearest tree.

Re: Deep sea fishing, St Lucia
In my own personal experience, your reaction while flying, travelling by road, et cetera is no indication of how you will react on a small boat on the open sea. Even people that are fine on kayaks in the sea will sometimes react badly on a small boat on the open sea.
Probably the most effective drug is Epanutin. This was/is used by, amongst others, NASA for astronauts, who believe it or not, also get motion sickness. You normally take it the evening before. Your doctor should be able to prescribe it, should you so wish.
The only other bit of advice I have is, if you do in fact get seasick: never look down into the boat – always keep your eyes on the horizon and in particular if you can see any land, watch the land. Some people also find that the engine exhaust gases add to their misery and if you fall into that category, then obviously try to keep away from the engines.Quemadmodum gladius neminem occidit: occidentis telum est.
