    There's doubt about the P99

    What about the Walther P-38?

Think the P-1 after war variant was issued to replace the Webley revolvers?

Speculating, but the S&W M&P range of .38 revolvers may also have been used. But this would be before 1961 when we became a republic.
According to Wikipedia, we used them. Not sure if it was the SADF or SAPS though.

Thanks for the correction, WZ - I am interested in these Spanish guns and had understood that the Super B's were also used, but do not have first hand knowledge.

I see classic arms site refers to the Walther P-38

    9mmp Walther P-38 Pistol
Postwar alloy framed pistol in Military/Police issue leather flap holster with spare magazine. Holster marked "WUNDERLICH BERLIN 1963". Pistol dated 1963. All good original condition.

This institute of security study has a nice list of firearms not nearly as detail as I hoped but a good start.

I see the new one on the list is a Vsor 70 -9mm. Which I have never heard of!

The Vektor would be SP1. (The SP01 is CZ speak.)
From what I have heard (rumour, not fact) the P7's are the M13 variant.
