There are thousands and thousands such cases in South Africa. As a retired educator I dealt with many of these over more than thirty years. I must add that however many, they are still the exception. Sadly, their children turn out just like them, as they did after their parents, generation after generation. Over the years I saw the children and even grandchildren of kids that I taught, the circle just continued with here and there one that worked him or herself out of the misery. Many of the parents I have have known over the years should not have kept rats, never mind children. We licence guns, but society may be better off if we licenced the right to procreate.
But again, these are the minority. The majority of great parents and kids made it still a worthwhile profession.
