Default picatinny rail for R1 rifle or cheaper solution

Just an inquiry to any person or distributor who knows or may supply picatinny rails for R1 rifles. Staff often engage in night time contacts, holding a torch or taping it to the barrel just does not cut it in a fire fight.

Ideally a removable light mounted near the rear sight (better aiming) allowing clear visibility of the foresight in night contact would be preferred, but a lower rail mounting would be fine. They want $325.00 for one in U.S. which is quite a lot.

Any other suggestions, other than insulation tape would be appreciated

Im sure it will be easy for a gunsmith to mount a section of rail to the underside of the handguard using the vent holes.

This...then get a clamp on mount that will work with whatever light you want to use and you should be GTG for not too much money at all.

    Is this anti-poaching?

Contact TuefelHund on Gunsite - he had some FAL railed fore ends on the way - eta?

In my experience a light fitted to the fore end will greatly improve the iron sights useability due to the silhouette effect the light will create for the sights.

Contact me for affordable ligts and mounts that will fit picatinny rails if you have the need. As per the advice of the Magpul Dynamics Team stay away from tape switches on rail mounted lights.
