Default February 20: Practice at Funky Town - handgun

    2016 Feb 20 Training COF.pdf

    Hi all

Apologies for the late notice... but well, what can we say... not everything in life gives notice. So it pays to be prepared.

Attached is the planned courses of fire for Saturday's practice session. Please read through it at least, preferably study it, and list your questions beforehand in order to save time on the day.

Saturday's session will be handgun-orientated. Sas recognises that rifle-shooting is great fun, but that the handgun is the primary weapon during 99% of our daily activities (yes, that one is made up, as is the other 75.9% of all statistics). As such, the handle and use of the handgun needs special attention.

So Saturday is all about handguns, standard drills, limited round-counts (i.e. accuracy) and teamwork. But bring your L1 kit and rifle, as we do have something planned for that too.

PLEASE NOTE: Depending on the amount of participants, time available and how things progress, we may not get to shoot all of the planned stages.

And then some excellent news: Tactical Quartermaster has generously sponsored some ammo for Saturday's practice session...

    It will work as follows:

    • The first ten (10) fully paid up Sas members to arrive at the range will receive 90 rounds of sponsored 9mmP ammunition to use on the range, for the day's training (ammo is factory PMP FMJ).
    • Should you shoot any calibre other than 9mmP you will firstly be schooled (civilly but not sugar-coated) on the benefits in changing over, and secondly TacQM will offer you the use of a Sig P226 handgun with holsters to utilise for the day.
    • Should you fall into the above category but choose not to utilise the provided 9mmP handgun and rather stick to your own blaster, then your decision will be met with much head-shaking and respect, however you will just not count as part of the ten and your sponsored ammo will go to number 11, and then 12, and so forth.

Please note: the organisers and sponsors have the final say in who gets what, and there is not an unlimited amount of available loaner-firearms, so things might have to be changed on the fly. We will keep it fair, however should you disagree with how the free stuff is allocated then please back up your bitching by sponsoring the next session in order to show us how it should actually be done. We are always happy to learn.

Oh, and no, you don't get to keep the sponsored brass.

    Important info:
