    Default Firearm Instructors Course - Weekend Program, 16-17 & 23-24 April, by Russel Kirk

    Due to demand, ITA will be holding another Instructors Course - Weekend Program.

    This course is intended for individuals who cannot commit to a full week of training, thus the program is performed over two consecutive weekends.


    The ITA courses are Internationally recognized and accredited locally by:


    • SASSETA (Safety And Security Sectoral Education Training Authority)
    • PFTC (Professional Firearm Trainers Council) No 041 967 474 377
    • SAPS (South African Police Services) No 4000004
    • PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority)
    • ITA also guarantees recognition (RPL) with this qualification for any future accreditation that may be required in South Africa.

    16-17 April, and 23-24 April, from 09h00 to ~17h30 daily.

    (A 50% non refundable deposit is required on booking)

    Day 1 (16 April):

    Day 2 (17 April):
    09h00 - 11h00 Lesson plans, presentation skills and evaluation.
    11h00 - 12h30 Portfolio of Evidence (Assessment, Record Keeping, SETA Procedures)
    12h30 - 13h30 Lunch (supplied at no additional cost)
    13h30 - 14h30 Portfolio of Evidence
    14h30 - 15:30 Handgun Evaluation
    15h30 - 18:30 Handgun training and Qualification Shoot

    Day 3 (23 April):
    09h00 - 12h30 Assessment Criteria & Documentation
    12h30 - 13h30 Lunch (supplied at no additional cost)
    13h30 - 15h30 Handgun Training
    15h30 - 17h30 Handgun
    Qualification Shoot

    Day 4 (24 April):
    09h00 - 11h00 Shotgun Evaluation
    11h00 - 12h30 Shotgun training and qualification shoot

    Each candidate must bring:



    • A Handgun, 2 magazines, holster and 300 rounds.
    • A Shotgun, sling, and 100 rounds. (50 buckshot & 50 birdshot)
    • A Semi-Auto Rifle/Carbine or Bolt Action Rifle, sling, and 50 rounds.
    • Eye protection, ear protection and a cap.



    ** Firearms can be rented, extra ammunition will be available for purchase. Please confirm requirements when submitting your booking.


    Optional Extras:




    • Accreditation Package for PFTC (including Quality Management System) - R 1,315.79



    • Assessor Training – Only available to persons attending the ITA Instructor Course R 2,850.00



    • Range Officer Training - R1,850

    Please note: Any person attempting this course should already be proficient in the use of firearms. This is not an entry-level program. Candidates must be experienced firearm users. All candidates will be graded during the qualification shoots.

    Gentlemen,

    There are still one or two spots open for the upcoming instructors course. This course is split over two consecutive weekends, commencing this coming weekend.

    Can you please provide coordinates for the venue, miss GPS tells me that no 31 Voortrekker exists, I must choose from 100?
