Any info on old 303 please
Friend received 303 from father who bought it 18 years ago. Any info will be appreciated.

Lee Enfield No4 Mk2, manufactured in the Fazakerley factorry in Liverpool
Manufactured in February, 1950
Fitted with the South African Bayonet manufactured by Armskor in the 1960's

Yep, It's a 303 & It's old...
Don't destroy it by "sporting" it... those are goting for R1500 all over the show.
Keep it nice & original, Good rifle to have as a piece of history in your safe.

Thank you for the info.
I have one which I bought for R1500 and had it made sporting to hunt bush pigs with. The rifle shoots very good groupings at n 100m with open sights. If the sights were better like some other 303 I have seen I would have kept it as it was.

Same as mine. Mine's also got a PF1XXX serial number, and there are many out there. They make good (but heavy) bushveld hunting rifles if kept original, the trigger's really not bad and they're relatively accurate with their own respective loads.
