Default Anyone tried the TRUstandard challenge/drill?

There is a guy I follow on Instagram called Baret Fawbush (truexodus on instagram) who has a challenge he calls the TRUstandard or something. The object is to get one or more hits on a target (presumably an IPSC target) at 7 yards in under 1 second from concealment. Bronze is one shot, silver two, and gold three, under one second.

Anyone tried it? It's way above my skill level but I'm sure there are people here that can do it?

Link to the description on his page: https://www.instagram.com/p/-uzm4bIE8Q/

Also, is this guy for real or is it more "internet badassery" like Zero?

I've seen a few of his very short vid's, he seems to train hard. I'm no expert on technique but some of his arm defense movements seem overkill. But I'm a no body.

70 bronze challenge coins were created signifying the shooter was able to consistently demonstrate a single round on target at 7 yards in under a second from concealment.
There are 25 silvers, meaning 2 rounds in under a second.
And finally, there is gold. 3 rounds under a second and there have only been 5 made.

Quickest I've managed from concealment to A-zone at 7m was 1.3s. And that's from AIWB which is significantly faster than strong-side carry.

2 shots from a competition holster in 1s is almost world class so this must be incredibly difficult. I have no doubt that there are people who can do it though.

.8 draw .2 split from concealment?

3 shots consistently is just ludicrous.

Not really. It's pretty doable if you get the right reps in. That said there are better skill tests than this.

I was under the impression that the top guys drew around .7ish consistently?

Depends on the conditions. You can do a much faster draw on a little drill like this than you can on a stage with other requirements.

I'm sure this isn't the greatest skills test out there, but it's still amazing to see this guy get 3 hits under 1 second. My eyes can barely register what's going on.

So when are you going to try this BigT?
