Is this any good?
Got this as a gift the other day, is it any good? Free stuff is always good nevertheless.
It's a Kershaw CQC 7K.

Re: Is this any good?
Dont know this model. But Kershaw makes good knives.
Personally I like thinner blades for EDC. Got my reasons.
But most people like them wider like this.

Re: Is this any good?
This is my first EDC. Feels a bit heavy, but not uncomfortable at all. The notch at the top of the blade hooks the top of your pocket as it is drawn, opening the blade automatically.

Re: Is this any good?
That's called an "Emerson Wave". It's a patented feature. You'll see on the other side of the blade the word "Emerson" will appear.
I had to choose between a Kershaw CQC and the Scrambler earlier this year. Chose the Scrambler, but I find myself constantly wondering if I made the right choice. Good knives, same manufacturer that makes ZT knives. That knife will probably last you many years to come, as all Kershaws do.

Re: Is this any good?
Its a collaboration knife between Kershaw and Ernest Emerson. Two brilliant knifemakers and designers. I been looking to get myself one soon. Enjoy it!
The tanto blade looks good!

Re: Is this any good?
I have the same blade. See that little skull on the pocket clip. That means you've got quailty.
Nothing wrong with it at all, mine gets rotated very often because I'm a knife slut.
Good choice.
Stay Bladed.

Re: Is this any good?
I have the cqc 4kxl which is a bit larger but same collaboration between kershaw and emerson. At first I was wondering if I made a good choice but the more I carry it the more I like it. I love the wave opening feature and the smooth side goes in and out the pocket very easily and the g10 on the other side gives moderate traction and with a blade just under 4 inches I can carry it alone for edc and emergency tactical. So it's a 2 for 1 for me. And I don't mind the made in china at all because kershaw's quality control is good. Anyway hope you enjoy the knife. Great gift!
