Re: Decent Hunting Boots
50% sale on selected items at Cape Union Mart on at the moment (I'm not affiliated).
Salomon, Merrell, HiTech, K-Way.
I have always just hunted in Chelsea type work boots so I think I might sleep in my new Salomon X Ultra 3 GTX.
Almost half the price of what Bowhunter mentions above.

Re: Decent Hunting Boots
Am also wondering about this. Currently using a pair of Salomon Gore-Tex ankle boots (think they are an earlier model of the ultra 3 mid GTX range and are marked as "sensifit" and with "contagrip") which have been so comfortable and useful for sport shooting (IDPA), hunting (walk and stalk) and hiking (KNP trails and the like)... but they are getting towards the end of their life. Which ankle boots do members recommend for the above purposes, but which are also comfortable and which won't break the bank?
Also, please let me know of shops or outlets where one could get the recommended boots in and around Pta/Jhb or Gauteng.
TIA

Re: Decent Hunting Boots
So after going through 2 x pairs of Lowa Zephyr's, I saw how badly the price went up.
While searching for a new pair of boots, I came across these Wolverines. I am half way through my second hunt with them. R2500 wasted. If you want good boots, Wolverines aren't them......

Re: Decent Hunting Boots
I'm a long term, like 20 years long term, Jim Green fan. Have a pair of monsters that have a great many kilometres of veld walking on them and they are still solid, comfortable and close to waterproof if I give them a good dose of polish.
