    Downloaded and watched this movie for the first time. Mel Gibson and Sam Elliot, came out think 2002. Excellent movie

    If you ever get a chance, buy the book. It's "We were soldiers once and young". Great book and full of great pics. Hal Moore even went back many years later and met his Vietnamese counterpart face to face.

    Thanks for recommending the book, the movie was excellent, but you 100% right, the book is better.

    one of my favorites, i still watch it now and then (braveheart is the best mel gibson movie) but only to pause to try and ID the different variants of AKs used
