Re: AK bullets
Try Camdix. Kzn ammunition also advertised fmj's some time back.

Not FMJ though.Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2

Re: AK bullets
KZN Ammo have some S&B FMJ's, they work great.

Re: AK bullets
If you're particularly wanting 123gr FMJ you'll be waiting till one of the agents actually bring some more S&B bullets in again.
In other weights there are other options from Frontier (120,155), PMP (150,174), and KZN (138). Note the Frontiers are brass monos though not FMJ.
Remember that this calibre uses the same diameter as a 303 bullet. Hence the wider range of heavier bullets available. There are no stupid questions ........ just stupid people

Re: AK bullets
The Co-op, in the dealer section, had 123gr fmj in the last week or 3.

Re: AK bullets
Does the 0.07mm diameter difference really matter? I know at least one person who uses .308 in making up 7.62 x 54R cartridges. Apparently with great success.

Re: AK bullets
That's probably down to the particular rifle, but generally .308 bullets would be running along the lands and not in the rifling. That said, it definitely does work in some of the US made AKs with much tighter tolerances - at least according to the interwebs (AK files etc). There are a great many 308 options out there, so it'd be great if they did work across the board for AKs.

Re: AK bullets
From my experience reloading (and doing a lot of experimenting a few years back) for my Type 56 there is no measurable difference in either accuracy or velocity between the same amount of powder behind a .308 or a .311 bullet of roughly the same weight. (from my rifle)
If anything, I believe my own loads using .308 bullets are more accurate than factory ammo with .311 bullets.

Re: AK bullets
Although I've not tried it, the Lee die set comes with an additional .308 decapper/sizing button.
