Treeman, if you really want that .357 Maggie to shine, load some cast RCBS 35-200gr FNGC bullets and see how it penetrates and stops pigs!
    Hi swc-tr
Sorry to semi-hijack the thread. Do you know where I can get hold of these bullets. I don't cast myself.

Shallow pig are DAMNED tough. I've never shot one that didn't twitch and run like crazy, even after a devastating brain shot. This one just plumb ran out of blood pressure.
Good advice. If I were to shoot on, I would use a 12guage and a 500gr slug.

Surely with that kind of penetration you can sacrifice some penetration for expansion.

What about the impala handgun bullets? They seem to be shaped like SWC bullets, does anyone have any experience as to their performance?

For longer distances from a carbine barrel maybe, I'm curious to know how they perform myself.
Should be hard enough to keep together, probably to slow for a mono to deform.

    they not meant to deform.
Sweets reported great accuracy, waiting to hear his hunting results.

As Treeman said, I got great accuracy from the Impalas. I am unlikely to hunt with them much though, as I prefer using a 44Mag for hunting.
