Re: Bulk 308 ammo
What about the bulk 308 ammo that camdix used to sell. I think it was made by nobletech. Used to come in the plain white boxes?

Re: Bulk 308 ammo
What happened to all the Norinco stuff that was available for ages in SA. Bought up during the ammo drought?

Re: Bulk 308 ammo
Norinco 308 sold out long ago
Only small amounts of 7,62x39 coming in at over R10,000 per 1500 and selling out in a few days each time.
Importers are having difficulty getting any newly made 308 ball ammo due to USA demand and low production volumes due to COVID causing raw material shortages.
Orders for new and surplus are in, but nothing is shipping
Even handgun ammo is in short supply if not 9mm

Re: Bulk 308 ammo
Well if you work it out.
308 case you wont get for under R10-00 a case.
Bullet R7-00 cheapest if you lucky.
LP Primer R1-00 if lucky.
Powder even Somchem at R600 a tin is R2-50 per round.
So thats +-R21.
So you will struggle to find factory ammo for under that amount each.

Re: Bulk 308 ammo
I reload for both 308 and 223. For both I have a “premium” and mil surplus load.
If you anneal, case lifespan are closer to 15-20 times before issues start. At worst the cost per case uses is less than R2. And using a Hornady bullet that is R7 is correct, but there are quite a few deals for cheaper bullets when loading mil surp quality.
But overall with case cost I am reloading below R5.50 for 223 and R13.30 for 308 and using Lapua cases for the 308.
