    Cool Precision Rifle Series Forum

We've launched a new 'Precision Rifle Series' forum
    http://www.gunsite.co.za/forums/foru...n-Rifle-Series

PRS is starting to get a foothold in SA, after Tac Driver kicked it off in Cape Town in 2016.
2017 has hit the ground running with five 1 day Club Series matches in Cape Town and Two National full PRS events in Touws Rivier, with 1 day and National competitions soon to follow in JHB and hopefully KZN in the near future.

PRS is a bit like adding Tabasco to a mix of F-Class, Veldskiet and gong skiet competitions... with a side order of insanity.
It's finally a sport for long range shooters that want a bit LOT more excitement and challenges in their shooting.

If you're interested and want more info in getting your club up and running, then GET IN TOUCH... and we'll help you out as much as we can.

Hope to see you at a PRS competition in the near future.

    Quick question:

How do you reckon a guy with a 308 RSA Musgrave single shot will fare in these type of competitions?😊

if you read the objectives of the prescision series, and the rules/restrictins per category, as long as the rifle falls into one of the categories it should work. I an not sure how the $3000 total($2000 rifle/$2000 scope will be interpreted in South African Rand though... perhaps the OP can elaborate.

as far as how you will fare with a .308 RSA Musgrve... as long as you are accurte out to the fat ranges with your rifle, you have as much a chance as the next. i doubt the fat that it is a single shot will make so much of a difference, unless there are parts of the competition that has tight time restrictions...

Daylite.... can you possibly explain how you see the rifle price range rules being interpreted in SA, or are you sticking to the MSRP on manufacturer website? no matter what you pay locally?

It's possible, but you would 'kak off'... ;) ...and you would probably earn 'Legend' status

Stages have really tight time limits, and some of the stages are pure time based like the PRS Skills Stage 1 below.

Yeah, it's been a tricky one, and we're looking at abandoning the price 'here in SA', and merely using the PRS List that they bring out every year.
If a shooter has a weird rifle that they want to use, we'll run it past PRS and get an opinion from them.

They've also dropped the combined cost total ($3000) this year, and opted just for the individual limits on the rifle and optic.
