Silencer for 10/22
Does anyone know if you can get a slip on silencer for a Ruger 10/22, one that is slotted for the front sight and tightens with a grub screw?

Re: Silencer for 10/22
Thanks Edwill I'll get hold of them.
Nielh it's a 10/22 carbine. I can't thread the barrel as the front sight is too far forward.Don’t take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.

Re: Silencer for 10/22
I get that. It's a normal pencil barrel and not a bull barrel?

I am also tagging this thread.
I have a Take-Down, that I would also like to suppress. Up to this point, I thought that I would have to have the front sight journal turned off in a lathe, and then another one made that threads onto the newly threaded barrel. Something like this:

"working" is the highest priority, but looking for alternatives. Hence tagging this thread ;-)

Re: Silencer for 10/22
What I have done is to add a small extension to the barrel. This extension is then threaded. On one gun, this extension was silver-soldered in place, the barrel placed in a lathe, and thread cut on the addition. On another gun, the barrel end went into a small cup on the one end of the extension. The other end of the extension was threaded. In this case, the extension was glued in position. Alignment was achieved by means of a precision spigot placed in the barrel bore.
In both cases the barrel itself was not machined at all. Pictures have been previously posted.
