    Default Vehicle tracking company

Hi guys. Gonna receive delivery of a new car tomorrow. Very excited.I have researched altech netstar, tracker, skytrax, tracetech..... But can't decide on which one to choose from. Has anyone dealt with any of these companies? All I know is that customer support is lacking from all of them according to hello peter website. Thank you for the input in advance.

Like you say, customer service seems to be an issue with all of them, so choosing the lesser evil...

I had Netstar on my previous bakkie, then switched to Cartrack. Had the Cartrack refitted to my new bakkie and so far I can't fault it or them in any way. The unit has internet/phone app tracking, so can log in to see if it is still working/sending signals.

Unless it is required by your insurance don't bother with tracking.

My insurance requires a tracker so I have a Ctrack unit fitted. Have never needed the recovery part so cannot comment on service but I can log in on the website and pull logs etc - handy when tax time comes.

My Insurance requires a tracking device, Ive been with Matrix for years.
Back in the day I owned a few 1998 Honda V-tec's (Yo) .
First one was stolen and recovered by Matrix with in 35 minutes,
A year later another was stolen and recovered about 90 minutes later.

So in all i'm happy with Matrix

Ctrack is the underlying technlogy used by insurers that do driver rating too. Dunno if I may mention names. But anyway, the Ctrack units are always way ahead of the other with regards to features, benefits, and the technology used.

I have it in my bakkie and wife's car. Apart from being able to log in, even with your phone, so see and track, you can send SMS messages to "arm" it, so it will immediately notify you when the vehicle moves - eg at a rugby game, or so.

I have a BEAME for Mixtelematics.
Less than R100 a month and had two friends with cars that were stolen and recovered with them.

So we supply the contact Centre technology at tracker.... we have a unique Advanced Vehicle Monitoring solution whereby we SMS you and then call you/loved ones if you do not respond to the SMS. All of this is automated and is reported historically. So any unit trigger, I.e. Driving in an are you don't normally, etc. you will get a call.

I use matrix (MixTelematics) in our vehicles.

Happy with it, and I like the app on my phone that I can use to real time track.

That said. I think the upper tier companies are better in general.

Buy direct from the company you want to use.
Do not go via the dealership, it works out cheaper that way.
Israeli Carry is for dead people

Also use a reputable fitment centre. There are two in hatfield and I have used both. The one affiliated with Matrix is pretty crap while the Netstar one gave excellent service!!!
