Default Hog with an unusual handgun.

Warthog boar shot at 35 yards, by Ernie Bishop from Gillette Wyoming. I guided Ernie in the Philippolis area, close to the Gariep River.

He used a custom built Ruger GP100 .357 mag with a ten inch barrel. He calls it the Franken Ruger.

Load was a 158 gr Swift A-frame at 1440fps. The bullet penetrated both shoulders and was recovered under the skin in the far shoulder. Retained weight of bullet 150.1gr.

A jackal shot with the same gun, giving a little better view of the revolver.

He killed the jackal at around 30 meters. The first shot at 100 m went a little high, creasing the back of the jackal. It then ran towards us, pausing at ±30 meters, looking confused.

Here I've spend many a night calling jackal in the cold.

Other folk just shoot them with handguns.

Seems I am doing something wrong, T-Stone, how much do you charge for lessons?

Realy like that jackal image, well presented.

How many clients do you get that hunts with handguns?

Thanks. Very few. This is my third handgun hunter in 18 years.

Interesting T, is the barrel solid steel or a type of sleeve that fits over the barrel?
