Miss this lifestyle so, so much. Have owned 2 different GS1200's ... the last one was an Adventure.

Gave up biking about 5 years ago now, after I lost my fingers (was, and is, still the right decision).

    Enjoy and stay safe guys

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your fingers.

Hoping to do lake Malawi & Tanganyika in 2018. Till then I'll just escape to Sabie or KZN South Coast at least once a month.

I can't wait for the XT700 Tenere to be released
All eyes will be on EICMA in November to see whether the bike will be unveiled there

Absolutely. It will be awesome with the MT07 engine. I'll let a year or two go by before getting one as the 660Z had some teething issues in the first few years.

The immediate advantage here is the fact that the MT07 engine has proven itself already
Yamaha only need to ensure that other components do not fail

Really miss this as well, rode mostly MX bikes, went to the tracks every weeked, had 3 shoulder ops and stopped MX and bought an XT660z, but for me, its way too heavy, so when I one day have the funds again, it will be a Husky 701, maybe even in SM trim, but with a set of enduro wheels........

The 701 sure is nice. I would like for my next bike to be a 990 SMT. Until then I'll enjoy what I have.
