    Default Replacement barrel

What is the procedure to replace a damaged barrel on my Glock? I use this as my sport shooting gun-Dedicated status-
    It is not repairable.

Probably easier to buy a new gun.

    New barrel = another license
Speak to BigT on the forum. They’re the official Glock people in the country. I’m suspecting the cost will put you close to that of a new gun though.

I thought so too, but what must I do with the damaged firearm? Obviously I don't want to renew it, and will never hand it over to SAPS.

Have it deactivated by a gunsmith perhaps?

Out of curiousity - what happened to the barrel? Is the barrel just worn out or did you have a kaboom?

I was shooting this morning, and did a double tap... Suddenly a HUGE pile of smoke (came out at muzzle). I assume it was a squib load, because the barrel is slightly bulged right in the middle of the barrel (About 0.5mm bigger in diameter now). There is a mark inside the barrel also. Weirdly, the barrels inside had lead marks/streaks at the muzzle side even though I am shooting with FMJ. I would love other comments and ideas. I weighed all the remaining rounds in the box, with a deviation of about 5 grains(Total mass of Bullet, case, primer, powder)

Speak to BigT. You might be able to organise a replacement from Austria at an ok price

Can’t comment on the barrel. I got a replacement slide with the same serial

    Don’t expect a cheap experience
