Re: Genl. Sitole appointed as Police Commissioner
"We" have met him a year or so ago. He is a good and honest man and a career policeman.
Through him working with Free State Agriculture / Vrystaat Landbou some years back when he was Provincial Commissioner some years back, they worked a success story as far as rural safety / farm safety is concerned.
We have not had such a good commissioner since Fivaz.

Does this have any potential to positively impact firearm licence applications?

Re: Genl. Sitole appointed as Police Commissioner
A delegation from Gosa including Paul and special advisors to Gosa and the leaders of the legal team met with the Genl. about two and a half years ago when he was Deputy National Commissioner and if I recall correctly standing in for Me Riah Piyega. This came after Gosa had to start high court cases against CFR for mass refusals. Through the leadership that the Genl. displayed a lot of issues were sorted out and further court cases were avoided. The stakeholder meetings also resumed after that.
Issues were explained to the Genl. and he had an open mind and willingness to listen. Channels were established for issues to be resolved. Those channels have assisted greatly in the past.
