Start with 10gr MP200. If you are sub-sonic go up .5gr at a time untill you reach supersonic. Then go back .5gr.

If you are supersonic with 10gr, go down .5gr untill sub-sonic.

Very important - remember to use a filler to keep the powder against the primer. I use sommer a small piece of toilet paper but you can also use dacron. PM me your e-mail and I will send you some what I got from somchem regarding down loads.

I'm also in the process of developing a subsonic load for the .303 but I will only be able to test it in a couple of weeks time, what do you think of the Sierra 180gr Pro-hunter in terms of accuracy etc? Please report your findings with these loads.

Just for my own interest as a 303 owner, why would you want to download to a subsonic velocity?

You guys must just remember if you want to hunt with sub-sonics. Hunting bullets are not designed to mushroom at such low velocities.

You will have to hit the vitals directly.

But for target shooting and to introduce young children or the wife to shooting = perfect.

The only thing I can Poach is an Egg.

My eldest daughter is in the process of learning to shoot and since I am still waiting for my .222 this is the way to go.

The Sierra 180gr works brilliantly in my rifle sub Moa groups at 100m (2519 Ft/s) and Moa groups at 200 and 300m.
I shot Gemsbuck and a couple of blesbuck with them recently and I dont think I will go Back to another bullet.

    Your daughter will love it.
No recoil at all. Shoots like a .22.

Good loads to learn someone on but not sure how stable the bullets will be at these low speeds. Sierra is not premium bullets but I use them in my 308 to hunt up to eland. Just shoot a few into a wet pack to make sure of penetration and expansion if you want to use them for hunting.
