So you trying to tell me you should not post pics of criminals on social media? Kinda like Mr Razzmatazz, the minister of police himself posting unblurred pics on Twitter after having them detained face in the dirt for over 3 hours for the photo opportunity, of what turned out to be a family group transporting their deceased loved one to a funeral?

    Asking for a friend...

To explain how and when discretion should be applied in these matters and when successful prosecutions can be compromised and for what reasons ID Parades are held and to explain the requirements for the admissability and acceptance of that evedince and the distinction as to when photos have been published on Police File and for what purpose that will be done is beyond the level of this discussion here.

There are much bigger problems in proving a criminal case in SA than publishing a picture on social media.

True, but won't it suck if a case gets thrown where a perpetrator was identified by a witness due to the suspects photos being all over social media the week before?

Sometimes the evidence of an ID Parade is all there is.

His identity as the shooter was never in question as he admitted to be the shooter.

There was no one that needed or could identify him at an ID Parade.
