LOL, but these 20mm tempered steel vests are completely impenetrable to handheld firearms! They even come with trolley wheels on extended bases so that the wearer can walk around! ;)

The problem with steel plates is that they splash. Ceramic tiles are a much better idea. Said after having tested both for a variety of manufacturers back in the 1980's.
