Silencer Bloemfontein
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with any of the silencers manufactured in Bloemfontein?
I hope to pick up my gun in the next month or so (it is with the dealer in Bloemfontein) and thought it might be a good idea to pre-order a silencer so it can by fitted while I'm in Bloemfontein.

I'll second that opinion. Henk's silencers are great value for money.

Yip, heard only good things about silent hunter, would fit a huntbuddy anyday to my hunting rig. Also know of OVS silencers which is quite impressive.

There is more than one guy in Bloemfontein that build silencers..... which one are you looking at. I think each guy has his followers.

Re: Silencer Bloemfontein
I have a silent hunter on my 6.5x55.. it works as expected, breaks recoil, and reduces bang. It is good, BUT, it is not a GREAT suppressor. for the money, they are wonderful.
I have to say, the Sus-Tac I have on my 338WM is exponentially better, but it cost almost 3 times as much as a Silent Hunter supressor.

Re: Silencer Bloemfontein
The Silent Hunter is good value for money. Works very well on my 308.
I also have one on my 223 semi.
The only issue I have is that they are heavy. At least the ones I have.

Re: Silencer Bloemfontein
What caliber? There is a nice Numenor silencer for a 308 rifle advertised on the forum.

Re: Silencer Bloemfontein
Take the following into consideration when picking silencer.
The size of it. You dont want a huge silencer sitting in front.
Also the weight.
Both of these can influence the barrel harmonics. And change PoI, and effect accuracy. More so on standard barrels over Varmint barrels.
Long silencers does not look good. And makes your rifle total length very long.
Ive got a short SL5 98mm on my 308. Which works brilliant. But regrettably as with Sustac. They are more pricey.
