You have to wonder about the caliber (sic) of person they expect to frequent the market when things like metal detectors get put up. It is also worrying how brainwashed certain groups are to believe a legal owner of firearms poses any threat. I thought our gun control legislation was awesome at weeding out undesirables?

Monte is completely above board- spoke to Daniel Mokone (daniel.mokone@tsogosun.com), one of the security managers there, who gave me verbal assurances that they are audited regularly, and they wouldn't risk their their reputation by not complying with firearms laws.

Please don't speculate on what they do or don't do, and whether it's legal or illegal - they are fully compliant.

    Really?

Because a Security Manager gave you a verbal assurance?

    Who are they "audited" by?

How is this 'audit' a way to override the FCA?

    Sorry, more questions than answers.

Seriously?? My company's premises is a "firearm free zone" and if visitors ask about firearm storage, we are expected to tell them that we are audited and fully compliant with the law only since our emails are checked and to keep our side clean. I'll probably get fired if I do otherwise.

However, the safe they use is not compliant, we are not audited by anyone with regards to the safe storage of firearms on the premises, this is just company policy and not an official firearm free zone and I will never leave any firearm with these people, no matter what their policies say.

They are audited by SAPS and the gambling board - do you honestly think a multi-national would risk its gambling licence by breaking firearms laws? They have their own armed response teams who obviously comply with the FCA too.

If you need more info, send them a formal written request, and the PR team and whomever else is involved, will answer you.

OK... you need to take a step back here.

You have brought absolutely no new info to the discussion whatsoever.

I have no interest in pursuing the Monte angle at all. YOU seem to be acting in their interests.
