There is no motorcycle unit per se but some stations do have motorcycles, my brother in law is one of those who uses a bike predominant. However your introduction into the SAPS will teach you that before you have any aspirations of beinv on a bike or any other specialized unit you serve your time at the station as a constable where you’ll learn the ropes. IIRC your consideration for other units, unless hired as a mechanic or spesialist technician etc, only comes after the first full year of service and you apply for that through the system.

Why have you never gone from learners to full License though?
The only real difference between a full licence and learners is that a learner may not have a passenger. After writing the test 13 times I am not worried about failing it. As for a full test I have never had a reason to get it I guess. A drivers code 8 or 10 would be fine, but I don`t have a car. I can drive however.

I will get a Code 10 when I get off from work again.

I certainly understand that I won`t be rolling up and riding a bike straight away, more was wondering if there were any SAPS Motorcycle units that I could join after a time.

Wait. This is only for motorcycle where you can drive but not have a passenger on. Car learners you need a licensed driver with you.

Dont want to come over wrong. But if you wrote learners test 13 times and not once converted it over to full license. This to me shows you know the rules but somehow can not drive well enough to pass the last passing out hurdle.

There is a dedicated saps motorcycle unit here that patrol pinetown, think they use WR's
From what i hear they have been pretty successful, being able to squeeze down alleys, traffic and on pavements
