Default Shootin' the breeze with camouflage762: Episode 22

Camo talks about his relationship with his G3. Is the G3 the worst service rifle in the world?

    Thanks again Camo!

    @Bushboy.

Agreed I am fortunate, but IMHO whilst most of us have cell phones/ipods/laptop/cars/etc the majority do not own a rifle specifically for self defence.

The majority are less well armed than our predecessor in the Boer war, despite it being over 100 years ago.

Sorry BigT. (as reasonable as you try make your offer sound...)

    No.
After SSP gave me an earful I clean with parafin (as usual) but then use Eezox to lubricate

    Cammo,

If you would like, I can give you some old fashioned SADF CLP2 oil, free of charge :-) Still have a little left from my stash when I left the SADF. They worked quite lekker on the R1 rifles, after all that's why the SADF developed it. Let me know if you interested.

BigT suggested slip2000, I also heard it's great but can't find any in SA.

    cheers,
    MM

MM I am about about as far from rich as possible. I drive a Tata and live in a tiny house but don't scrimp on life saving gear.

I don sell Slip 2000 but Khumba does. And I highly recommend doing business with him.

I absolutely agree. I think alot of us have adopted that attitude and for good reason.

I've bought Wilson combat ultima grease from Khumba and that stuff is great. He didn't bring any slip into the country for sale at that time...but will chat to him again.

BTW, I bought MPRO7 which is essentially the same thing as Hoppes Elite. The cleaner works nicely and has a great degreasing action, however, the oil was rather disappointing. It's very thin and after about a week, runs off from the slide etc. For hectic range work, I use the Wilson grease, for normal day to day carry, I suppose the MPRO7 oil or any other is ok.

    Thanks alot BigT,

    regards,
    MM
