    Default Solingrin knives

I was given a solingrin throwing knife, I see they are German made and therefore one would assume really great quality.

Anybody have more information on them? I will only be able to load pics in a day or two when the internet isn't throttled.

Hoping some folk like Mr Medic and P2W know about these blades.

I have heard about "Solingen" knives, which is the name of a well known knife-making region in Germany.

The spelling of the name on on your knife immediately makes me think of China...

That would be the spelling on my brain, not my knife!

My first hunting knife was a Solingnen folder, which I used for many years. While doing national service, I bought a Solingen fixed blade, which looked a bit like a high quality AK bayonet, at a mobile SAWI shop in the operational area. I gave the second knife away some years ago, the first one was worked to death. As mentioned, I believe that Solingen is the area of manufacture, not a specific make.

I did see that it's an area on google but that's about all I got.

What the hell does one do with a throwing knife? It sounds cool until the age of 13.

Throwing knives is fun. Please wear eye protection!

I found that the shape and balance plays a large role in the knife's ability to function.

I own a throwing knife which simply doesn't work. And one which I literally threw until it broke.

Solingen is to Germany what Toledo is to Spain. It is a small city on the Rhine which has for centuries been the knife centre in Germany.

My first autobahn driving experience was from Essen-Werden to Solingen. Knives aside, driving in Germany is a real kick.
