Re: ARTICLE: A Line in the Sand – Negotiating in Bad Faith
What do you think GOSA and others think of this, is this in any way an option or priority for them in the near future?
where do we start and when do we start working towards this goal? it doesn't help that the idea is floating around and we all feel the same way but nothing is done about it.
If there is someone with influence in one of the major gun organizations that can get the ball rolling on this please do so. I do think think it will take us all uniting under one banner to achieve this goal (which is rarely seen).
I personally would like to see this happen, I'm in the process of getting competency done and firearms licensed (S 13 and S 16), but the stress of spending all that money/time and there is still the chance of being declined is tiring. I also kinda feel like getting licensed makes me more of a target here in S.A.

Re: ARTICLE: A Line in the Sand – Negotiating in Bad Faith
Firearms licencing is a process that places the law abiding citizen at a disadvantage compared to the criminal element in society. I am sure that we have all seen the bumper sticker that says "When guns are outlawed only the outlaws will have guns." Scrap the licencing of guns and up the penalties for unlawfull use thereof.Another piece of legislation that needs to get scrapped is the use of a firearm to protect your property. Someone once said that the old highway mans "Your money or your life " was not giving you an option as your money is your life, The current law does apparently not apply to banks who issue the protectors of their property semi-auto rifles. (CIT guards.)
All that should be neccesary for the purchase of your first firearm is a certificate from a PRIVATE training institution, something that we already have.

Re: ARTICLE: A Line in the Sand – Negotiating in Bad Faith
We should be allowed to buy guns over the counter and walk.
Training records should be a portfolio of training the individual cares to do at their convenience and pace. This will sift out dedicated status vs casual on the basis of this portfolio.
Today we are facing rabid anti gun crowd and most importantly we have so called pro gunners that prop up the anti gun agenda because it earns them money.live out your imagination , not your history.

Agreed, Excellent article, now we have to make it work.
Generally speaking, we all see anarchy progressing daily...the tax base is shrinking (i.e., lesser people are paying tax because they have lost trust in the govt.); Road laws are openly broken, even in the presence of LEO (who, often, are themselves guilty of this); general decay in almost all aspects of living in SA; everyone has a "gatvol" or "don't care" attitude

Super!!!
#SCRAPTHECFR
In any event, apart from frustrating good people, it creates an unhealthy microclimate for the growth of a certain type of policeman who is too lazy to catch criminals and has a desire to control society and even inhumane objects made of steel, plastic and wood. We don't need any of the type. They add no value.

Gentle man this is actually one aspect that we can tackle with no racial division which will make us so much stronger, is the black gun owner's association still active?

Re: ARTICLE: A Line in the Sand – Negotiating in Bad Faith
Thanks Pirate and all for the positive support.
I will confess that it was an uncomfortable article to write, and wrestled about having it published. (As stated in the article) I understand that it has been posted on an American, Russian and Finish forum as well as been sent to DKB.
Honestly, I wish we could build some sort of trust through reasoned dialogue with those in political power.
To those negotiating sincerely on our behalf: Thank you, please negotiate on principle and not some sort of legal expediency.Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2
