    Forgot to add that I have 2 first aid kits behind the seat also, one that came with the vehicle, and one that I cobbled together

    Why is that better than a D-shackle? Wouldn't that cause the tow rope webbing to bunch up?

    D shackles are designed for direct linear pull. Any direction of pull slightly off centre overstresses the D. The bow shackle permits offset pull forces. Up to 60 degrees IIRC

    Isn't drinking distilled water considered a bad idea? As far as I know drinking distilled water is actually bad for your body.

    For emergency it is fine. Drinking for a long period can be an issue if you don’t have a mineral rich diet.
