Re: Left Hand 416 Rigby
So the hunt continues. My gunsmith gave me the details of
http://www.granitemountainarms.com/standard.html
They make genuine mauser type clawfeed actions in lefthand configuration.
Waiting on him to quote me on the action.

Re: Left Hand 416 Rigby
With the current state at the SABS, my gunsmith say it will be far safer and faster to import a barrel and action, than to apply for permission to build one and then to have it proofed.
The list to be fullfilled so far:
416 Rigby
Left hand M98 single sqaurebridge action
22 Inch heavy profile barrel
Express sights only

Re: Left Hand 416 Rigby
So price at Granite Mountain Arms is 3500 US Dollars for a barreled action with integral sights.
The cost of importing it plus my gunsmith’s rightfull profit for the effort will then be added onto that. A fitted stock, blueing and zeroing of sights will then be the final steps.
It will have a 7-8 month lead time at GMA, so plenty of time to organize the effort.

Pricey, but no bad.
For what you are getting it is worth it.
Just make sure that it comes with decent Express Sights so that you don't need to change them this sideA roaring Lion kills no game

Re: Left Hand 416 Rigby
Got the official quote back yesterday. Heard the price wrong last time- $5500 for the barrelled action, R15000 to import the rifle. Will have to go with an Atech stock to keep cost down.
Anyone with experience in magnum calibres and their stocks?

Never handled an armtech, but I know of a few Game Reserves who use their stocks.
