Has anyone here had any experience with the Cold Steel OSS?
How strong is the blade (obviously won't be using it for camping or or anything of the sorts, but just curious).

They are priced at about R2000 so not cheap, for me anyway.

There is a thread where a PH's son killed a wounded buffalo with this knife. The father was grappling with the buffalo and the son rushed to help. The knife is light and nimble.

That looks like a large blade so it's not going to be easy to carry and conceal. For 2k you've got done options. Child steel stuff are normally solid. Checkout the steel and research it. Cold steel do lots of videos on their blades.

Yeah that's the one thing that is putting me off the OSS is the size, if it was just a little smaller it would be great, but it did kill a buffalo so that extra length will get the job done :)

You don't need much length against a 2 legged animal. If you want it get it. Just consider it ending up in a drawer. Take the sheath into your thought as well.

    As above.

Bauchop knives make some very 'effective' daggers. Worth a look I think.

Have you thought about getting yourself a push-dagger like the Cohort by Xavier Knox?

Want something with a bit of length to it as I have a technique I use that requires it.

I'm pretty well set on the OSS as well, have been eyeing it for ages but have a knife so have always spent the extra cash on guns and ammo. One day....

    Thank you.

I did, and as far as I'm aware he's assembling a collection of knives that could be used in a combat/combative role?
I'm about to order a Bauchop warlock, and it looks very much like knife that could be used for combat to me.
