Re: Advice on WML
Yes that is not my intention, that's why I carry a torch as well.
The reason for me mentioning switching off the pumps etc, is that when I need to use a gun at night in that scenario, I would like to have more light for that as opposed to an indoor SD scenario.
It's a H&K P30

Re: Advice on WML
Great. I've found that a good quality EDC torch (800+ lumens) like my Klarus is ideal for brightening up the situation.
Scan and sweep the problem areas, keep FA at the ready. Recently did a low-light/no-light course and it really highlights the pro's and cons of SelfDefense and torch work at night.
I've responded to all relevant PM's regarding the X300

Re: Advice on WML
I'm also interested in the Olight options. I like the ease of charging of the mini and they are cheaper than surefire etc. Interested to hear about any problems experienced with them, so will keep an eye on this thread...

Re: Advice on WML
Why the suspicion?
No idea if they have problems or not.
However, in my experience gun people tend to brand things that they have invested money into as being reliable without actually properly testing them.
For what its worth, I like Olight stuff. I have a bunch and may well buy one of these.
However Surefire have been doing this kind of stuff a lot longer and know what they are about.Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.

Olight PL-1 Valkyrie on a G17 for EDC since Aug 2018.
Round count about 900, no issues yet.

Re: Advice on WML
I have Streamlight TLR 1 HL
Due to where I live (bush and reserve next door) I wanted more lumens on a WML for outside, 800 lumens lights up outside very well.
Switches simple are very easy to use.
takes two CR123A batteries, must have two as back up. Streamlight says no rechargeable batteries.
If I could redo my set up, I would go with the 1000 lumen hand held and the Surefire XC1-B
