Terms and Conditions for Meme and Cameo Entries
1) These terms and conditions apply to the Girls on Fire Meme and Cameo Competition (the “Competition”) organised and managed by GOSA (Gun Owners SA).
2) By choosing to enter the Competition, a person who participates in the Competition agrees to be bound by and adhere to these terms and conditions. The participant acknowledges that she has read these terms and conditions and understands them
Definitions
i. Meme: A picture with a short, usually humorous caption relating to female empowerment
ii. Cameo: A picture with a story of why you are supporting the Girls on Fire
• Note that the memes and cameos must relate to the South African culture
3) The competition is open to all ladies of the public, GOSA and Non-GOSA members, excluding the following:
a. A supplier of goods or services in connection with the Competition and their immediate family
b. Anyone else professionally connected with the organisation of the competition, including the GOSA exco and steering committee.
4) If a participant is younger than 18 years, they must obtain written consent of their parent or guardian to participate in the competition
5) Participation in the Competition opens on 15th November 2018 and closes on 5th January 2019.
6) The promotion is a maximum amount of 2 memes and 1 cameo
7) Only 3 entries will be accepted made up of the memes and/or cameos
a. Entries must be submitted by the person entering the competition
i. No submissions by partners, spouses, family or friends will be accepted
8) All entries must be submitted by email to girlsonfire@gunownerssa.org before the closing date together with contact numbers
a. Entries must only be submitted by email.
b. Entries posted directly on social media will be disqualified
9) All winners will be chosen by a panel of select judges, and the decision is final
10) The contestants in the running for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be informed prior to the event on 26 January 2019
a. If any winner is subsequently found not legible to participate in this competition, the judges may at their discretion forfeit the prize and award it to the next runner up
b. The judge’s decision in all matters to do with this competition is final
11) Winners of any firearms will be responsible for obtaining their firearm competency/licences at their own expense
a. The organisers shall not be responsible for the inability of any winner to utilize the prize due to failure to licence the firearm
b. All firearms remain property of GOF until licenses are obtained
c. Failure to collect the paperwork and submit the license
application within 3 months of the event will result in forfeiture of the prize
d. Should the winner not have a competency, proof of application for the competency must be supplied within two months of the event. Once the competency has been received the rule in 11a will apply.
e. Should a winner with competency, not provide a receipt of licence application within 3 months, will forfeit their prize
12) The distribution of main prizes, excluding firearms, will be couriered at the cost of GOF
a. Firearms will be couriered once winning licence holder is obtained. At the cost of GOF
13) The winners will be required to take part in publicity related to the competition including having her photo taken and her name being disclosed
14) The prizes are non-transferable
15) Prizes are not convertible for cash
16) By entering the competition, all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions, which shall be interpreted by the judges at their sole discretion
17) The organisation disclaims any warranty or representation in relation to the prizes and shall not be responsible for the proper functioning of the prizes or any defect, loss or injury resulting from the use of the prizes
18) These Terms and Conditions supersede all other prior terms and conditions, understandings, arrangements or agreements, whether verbal or written, in relation to the competition
