For a true rebated rim one should look at calibers like 284 Winchester or 425 WR.

I suspect the normal rimless case head will give slightly more reliable feeding than a rebated rim, simply because the bolt head has a slightly bigger surface to engage while pushing the cartridge out of the mag.

In regards to the rebate rim of the .425 Westley Richards, a lot of criticism/negative opinions was given about the rebate brass of the .425 WS...feeding problems mainly...

Hallo Ryan, the best credible reloading source I would refer you to is the African Dangerous Game Cartridges book written by Pierre van der Walt...

The second source will be the SONCHEM manual for reloading ..it is available at any gun shop...the book from Pierre van der Walt is more difficult to get hold of..Safari Press , Safari& outdoor will be another possibility..

When I hear that beautiful name, 404 Jeffery I straight away retract into my books of years ago, Hemingway and others, Death in the Long Grass etc. the books I lived page by page in my teens, One British Pound for one pound of ivory and so often mentioned, the 404 Jeffery.
Usually along with words like "a sweet little gun" and other endearments.

Of all the the guns used on the safaris of old the .404 Jeffery holds the dearest most mystical position, I can skip many an article on 700 nitro and or .458 etc, but I have to read every article written where the 404 is mentioned.
Such lovely words 404 Jeffery, just sounds nice, has elephants, mountains, Amaruala and hard wood fires in it, with the reminder of hard men with hard hands and a time where decisions were often with death as one side of the answer.
