There are no charge stoppers. One has to hit their target with enough penetration. Missing the brain and stunning an elephant due to caliber size involves many factors. One being luck. Personally with the development of modern bullets I'd lower the DG minimum to a .338 Win mag and 250 grain bullets...but that's just me ;)

What could possibly be the reason for this? Trying to outlaw the 50bmg?

I have no words. Time to get rid of Trudeau and the socialists.

Shakeyjake, that really is tragic .....thinking on the 460 Weatherby, please ask members you know in Canada if they will be so kind as to give me their .460 Weatherby brass , I need to get a lot of brass to be able to build the 404 Jeffery Magnum....

Rather than destroying the .460 Weatherby brass , send it to me I will re-purpose it to a 404 Jeffery Magnum...I think the .460 Weatherby action will make a decent donor action to the 404 Jeffery Magnum rifle build...

The gun Orgs out here are tearing this "order in council" apart. A lot of hunting rifles are included too, even though that wasn't the intention....BS! They want them all.
Dont want to derail this thread.
My big bores.....5 oh...not any more, 458WM BSA with a factory ported muzzle (quite pleasant to shoot), 9.3x62 in a cheap HVA(love it), 338 WM Old Browning Abolt. This one hurts to shoot off the bench...lol
