Ive also walked into a big franchise store and just been ignored. Was looking for ammo primers bullets the whole shebang. Decided to rather leave. Looked like the employees had to much to argue about between themselves.

Just asking: Why didn't you just ask them ? In that industry SO SO many browse and hate to be asked. Even if you just 'hello' they would have jumped to attention.

I agree, I get annoyed when I’m just browsing the store and someone asks me every 5 minutes if I’ve been helped. If I need help or assistance, I have no problem asking for it. Even a simple thing like making eye contact is good enough for someone to give you assistance.

If I don’t like the sales guys’ attitude, then only would I leave. As amazing as it may seem, I’m more than happy with the service I get from SO and support the local one whenever I can. Even if I just want to browse or shoot the breeze with one of the guys behind the counter

In my case, I did ask. Guy seemed so unfriendly. I bought the study material for my licence and left.
The funny thing is, when a regular walked in, his eyes lit up and he was extremely friendly. This only pissed me off more.

It wasn't S&O, but won't name and shame.
Actually sad, the owners may not even know they losing business.
I would of thought he was having a bad day, until the regular walked in.

GarethBrowne was treated badly and he should have returned the book just for that.

    Hey no stress.
I'm actually happy about it. Found a great place because of it

The worst exchange I've had in a gun shop:

Me: "Hi do you have any S121 in stock?"

Guy: "No, you know we don't, no one does, so why did you waste your time coming here to ask?"

    Me: "OK bye"

Now maybe he was trying to be funny, but he made sure I'd never shop there again.
