Fellow member's .22's
Hey guys and gals what make of rimfire are you shooting and what do you use it for?
I'm just trying to get an idea of what is available here in SA and would work best for my purposes. Must say I'd love to have an Anschutz but they're not too common here.

Re: Fellow member's .22's
Do you mean the type and brand of firearm, or only the ammunition?
And what do you want to do with it - plinking / teaching / sport shooting / pest control?

Re: Fellow member's .22's
There's a fair number of Anschutze's around; usually a few on every Classic Arms auction to had at fair prices. Next auction probably in August at the War Museum in Saxonwold.
I have Ruger 10/22 and 96/22 (lever action) rifles, both used for pin shooting, occasionally for IPSC Mini Rifle. Also Ruger MkII and S&W M41 target pistols used for pin shooting. Walther PP .22 for carrying when the Glock 26 is too heavy or too difficult to conceal; and as backup for pin shooting.

I have a Zastava CZ 99 Precision rifle, and a Colt "Pre"-Woodsman, both use for plinking. The Woodsman is 93 years old and been in my family for 3 generations. I'm currently working through a brick of Federal American Eagle copper plated ammo.

Re: Fellow member's .22's
Well both would be great! But generally more in the line of the firearm.
I generally would use mine for vermin, and practice in terms of accuracy and technique. If it's accurate enough if even consider sport shooting although I know next to nothing in terms of that.

I have the norinco, use it mostly for plinking and practicing. Back then it was what I could afford. Would love to get another.22 at some point.
