Sig P226 (W. German)
Hi Guys,
So finally got my license and managed to go pick up my gun.
I wanted a P226 for a while, but couldn't fork out the amount for the newer Legion or MK25 P226s that were available new,
So I went and looked for used.
And I found a clean original 1983 Sig Sauer P226 Made in West Germany, and bought it without hesitation. It had some wear on the edges of the gun, but the rest is neat.
I just want to try get different grips so I can preserve the originals, and luckily picked up a parts kit a while back, but the springs are so tight on this P226 still, I am keeping the parts kit for when I need it.

Fantastic weapon. The 226 is an awesome gun. If you don't mind, how much was it second hand?

A fine example, I'd like one of these for my collection too at some point. Was the NZ army's service pistol before we adopted the G17 Gen4.

Re: Sig P226 (W. German)
Forgot I'd posted on this thread. Not long after I'd replied, I came across this P226 LDC which was too good to refuse. I cannot remember where I read it but in the SA SF, apparently 4 SFR use the P226 and 5 SFR use the Glock 17?

Re: Sig P226 (W. German)
I'm not sure but would assume so. The previous owner fitted a "go faster" trigger which has a phenomenal reset. The pistol also doubles as a boat anchor - such is its mass.:P~ It's one of my favourite pistols in my collection, very well engineered piece of kit and fits my hands really well.

A very fine purchase, indeed. Those W. German models are very high quality.
