I have, and it was freakin delicious. I want to describe it as 'juicy' but that is maybe not the right word. Because of all the marbling in the steak itself it is actually fatty, but kind of comes across as juicy. I still have flashbacks...

I don't think it will be to everyone's liking, because it is quite fattty. But I like fat. Also, the cooking method may be important. I made mine on a very hot braai and everyone loved it. My brother tells me he made it once with the reverse sear method, and hated it.

Wagyu is fatty. It's a rich steak and you can't have a lot of it. If you think you're going to eat a kilo steak like you do a T-bone - good luck. However, I hear it's tender, juicy and tasty.

I don't have the money for it right now, but since seeing it in the Fleishery in Centurion, I think my December bonus will pay for a little cut. PS: It's not to be braaied. It's supposed to be pan fried, apparently.

I has Waguy beef in Japan. 150 gram steak dor lunch and so rich that I skipped dinner. Honestly too rich for me, if I had the opportunity I would have a 50 gram taster only.

I've done the same with big cuts. Fire gives colour and flavour, oven cooks it.
