What prohibited them from supporting him in the future? Some dickhead who by chance had the same (very common) nickname?

I'm inclined to agree, to be honest. Hell, even I was called "Piet Skiet" at a previous job because of my love for firearms. My name isn't even Piet. Nowhere near it.
