    Default Francolin Shooting

I went to a farm in the freestate, as an SA Wingshooter member I have access to it, last week hoping to shoot some guineafowl. However, without a dog, it was near impossible to get anywhere within shooting range of the 12gauge. I did however bag a couple of Swainson's Francolin. I had a really GREAT day, but now am determined that I ougt to get a dog for future shoots of this kind. I walked Miles and miles only to flush birds way too far away to shoot. On the day I saw at least 20-30 Francolin, Hundreds of Guineas and no fewer than 50 Orange River Partridge.

To have access to these type of farms, I recommend all to join an organisation like SA Wingshooters. I have been a member for some years and have defnitely felt the benefit.

Am looking for a nice recipe for the birds now...

    For Guinea Fowl:

Put the Guineas in a pot of boiling water
    Put a 2 x 4 stick over the pot
    Boil for a week
Turf the Guinea and eat the stick
