Default It’s not safe to leave cops with guns when they’re off duty

"It’s not safe to leave cops with guns when they’re off duty- Gun Free SA " WTF

“This is according to Gun Free South Africa’s Adele Kirsten, who said research, nationally and globally, has shown that it is not safe for cops to have their service pistols on them outside of work.” ?

Then how would the off duty cop have saved a lady the other day from being hijacked?

This is great, it's time the cops pick a side.

Why doesn't Adel's armed reaction refuse to have her as a customer, along with every other security company? Cow

Because businesses are like prostitutes, they’ll do anything for a little bit of money.

would say its far more complicated in our country where so many cops are no better than uniformed criminals. I would like every cop to go home with his service pistol,it extends his useful cop service beyond work hrs and could protect him from people he has "wronged" but past history has shown that loss in shebeens is very high, loss while under the influence is very high and sale of weapons for money is not unknown.
Had a guy who worked for me that opened a shebeen, said he had no problem with giving cops credit because they had to pay him before going back to work - he had there gun -service weapon as security.
Real double edged sword in this country.
I would vote they have their own personal weapons, the police weapon is just that, a police weapon like any other company tool it gets handed in at end of day.
The problem is once again not the weapon - but the standard of person appointed to control it.
Soldiers do not take their rifles home ?.
