    Default Which bullet to use

    I have 308 with 1:10 twist.I hunt 10 rounds a year (80 - 350m) and the rest of the year target shooting
I am looking for one round for hunting and shooting target.
    Narrow down to the following:
    1.Hornady ELD-X 178g
    2.Nosler ballistic tip 168g
    3.Accubond 168g long range
Which of these bullets will perform at close and long range. These are the only bullets I am looking for.

Of those three, for both close and longer range hunting, I'd choose the monolithic one in 150gr-165gr range.

Without researching your specific components, offhand I can’t find a solution with your parameters.

A bullet impacting an animal at 80m behaves quite differently to the same bullet at 350m. Add to that the difference between a Blesbok and an Eland...

The closest I can get to a 1 gun, 1 bullet solution is the Nosler Partition launched as fast as you can from your rifle.

I’d buy at least 2 more rifles.

I think you have just found a reason to get a long range hunting rifle 👀

    A suggestion or two:

Take a hunting bullet which is accurate in your rifle, and which will still expand at 350m, yet hold together at 80m.

Consider one of the Sierra bullets as well, or a monolithic.

Develop 2 loads. One for hunting, one for the range. Load up 50/100 hunting rounds, leave them in the save and use as needed. Load up range rounds and use as needed.

I currently shoot Hornady ELD-M 168 and hunt with Barnes 168g as my 308 loves 168gr

The question i then want to ask, if both Accubond 168 LR and Hornady ELD-X 178 group which one will be best for hunting
