Can any one tell me a bit about the Hornady ELD-M 168 you mention, hunting terminal performance.

ELD-M is Hornady's Extreme Low Drag - Match bullet. Not made and definitely not recommended for hunting. If you want one of them in hunting, you look for the ELD-X, Hornady's Extreme Low Drag - eXpanding bullet, made for hunting.
From that list, I'd say continue doing what you're doing.

My 308 is 1/12. I stick to 150gr Sako Super hammerhead for Hunting. And 155 Amax and now 155 ELD-Match. Our range is 500m and the ELD does exceptionaly well at that range on target. The Sako as well but on range its the 155 that get to be shot. Shot 2 years back a Kudu at just over 300m. 150 went in on rib cage and out other side. Dont think need anymore then a 150. As I rarely go above 200 to 250 in field. Most Springbuck we shoot in Merweville is under 200.
