    Default Federal Fusion "Bonded" bullets

One of the larger suppliers has stock of Federal Fusion bullets.
    Prices are very good (R 500 per 100 180 gr 308)
Does anyone have any experience using these bullets. On some hunting sites these are regarded
as being deer bullets and not big game bullets. Apparently they are very accurate.

From what I have read these seem to be (CMJ) copper coated bullets and not traditional bonded
    bullets.

At the price they may be good range bullets.

I use them in .223 Rem. Have taken so Impala with them. They held together like bonded bullets should. Certainly not just copper plating.

My understanding is that its the same technology as Speer Gold Dot, so they should hold together very well.

I actually saw them at the same big store earlier this morning. For the money, they seem good. The Federal factory ammo loaded with those are apparently pretty good, so I'll give them a shot in the new hunting season.

Used it exclusively on my 243 this season, 5 impala , all body shots, side on and one quartering away.
did not recover one bullet, all animals recovered within 40m.
meat damage was not what I expected from a 243 sub 100m shots. I was pleasantly surprised .

Should be R500 per 50. Still a good price. Would love to see how they compare to the Norma Oryx in hunting situations. Oryx come in 168gr, whereas the Fusions come in 150gr and 180gr.

I was about to say I saw the same special, yes, and when checking later I saw that it was back to R500/50. Might be a daily special, though, or a mistake.

Those bullets in 308 only comes in packs of 50, hence my original question.

Regardless, it puts them on par with the Norma Oryx, which usually runs at about 1K for 100, both bonded.
I would use either with confidence.
