Loose Barrel
My thanks to Andrew for pointing out that the barrel/stock fit on my Brno-CZ 601 is loose....Thanks again Andrew.
Is this an easy fix or one best left to a gunsmith ?
Regards.
Keith.

Re: Loose Barrel
Could be an easy fix. We can have a look at it together when convenient.

Re: Loose Barrel
You can tighten the screws without any trouble. Just be careful to use a screwdriver which fits well. The metal on firearms is usually quite soft and easy to strip or damage. Double hollow ground screw bits fit better than a normal tapered tip screwdriver.

Re: Loose Barrel
You should be tighten the screws very easily. Use some Locktight as well.

Re: Loose Barrel
Thanks Guys.
The barrel is 'loose' at the end of the stock.
I have a set of gun makers turn screws which should do the job.
Question....Which screws do I tighten and where do I find them ?
As you can probably guess, this is new territory for me
Regards.

Re: Loose Barrel
Most rifles have two screws. One behind the trigger guard and one before the magazine. Your CZ/BRNO 601 should have a third screw at the front end of the stock, just below the barrel band.
Some folks remove the third foremost screw with and get better accuracy. Others put it back after a while.
I do not know exactly how tight the foremost screw should be.

Re: Loose Barrel
The two screws at the action itself needs to be as tight as you can go. The zkk's already have pillars built into the stock to ensure you get a consistent tightening to the stock. If yours has the third screw under the barrel (where the barrel thickens under the rear sight) then I suggest making that one only finger tight. My groups open up significantly if that third screw puts any significant load between the barrel and the stock.

Re: Loose Barrel
Not your action but these are the screws that need tightening.

Re: Loose Barrel
There's been a huge debate on "how tight should you tighten the action screws", and Sako factory instruction is "the front screw should be tight and the rear one tightish".
Very helpful indeed...
