I have seen guys thumbing hammer pistols when holstering, same principal I guess.

Perhaps only during the reholstering bit but I did see a video where fellow explains that it can be used even when drawing a firearm.

So they put their thumb on the SCD during the one second no-look shove-it-in reholstering to look cool for Instagram whilst keeping all the gentleman vegetables and femoral artery intact if something did find it's way into the holster which could cause the trigger to be pulled.

The Glock is not unsafe to holster but poor technique and lack of training will result in potential danger.

So mistakes can never happen with a loaded striker fired gun and aiwb ?
Not sure about you, but after a violent or potentially dangerous encounter where I have masses of adrenaline dumped in my system , I'm shaking, a lot sometimes. I feel better for keeping my thumb on that little device. Each to their own.

It is dark, you breathing exceptionally heavy from exertion, you on super high alert, massive adrenaline spike.
Draw and reholster a loaded striker fired handgun in those conditions confidently.
And I mean dark, no lighting assistance.
    I appreciate that part then.

Glock is not an unsafe gun.
All nasties with a Glock are user induced.
    Training is important.

Draw it faster than light and holster when the threat is no longer ( do so slowly and careful).

Why would anyone re holster at the speed of light.
