Decision on folder and fixed blade

First and foremost apologies on starting a new thread on this, was hoping this would get greater attention from all and thus helping out guys like me who are confused. Would like to thank lone ranger, wthang, and marthinus all who have provided invaluable insight in different parts of understanding. As one may read the need for a fixed blade as well a folder is required for just in case, even if i have mase and a baton and eventually a firearm what i have gathered is that knives are an invaluable source of help one way or another. Your insight into choices of combinations between fixed blade for carry on the bike, and a folder as a secondary would greatly be appreciated. Thank you gentlemen and i look forward to your insight.

Okay, so as a newbie to self defensive weapons i have gathered always have something on hand in case of an emergency, now i need to get 2 knives from wwhat i have read, a fixed blade as well as a folder, now if the members do not mind may i ask advice on a couple of things, first as i wait on my h&k .40 i need too protect the family, a new-born niece staying with me especially! i have narrowed down my options on folding blades to a crkt m16-14sfg, cold steel ak-47 and a coldsteel gunsite which is a bit on the bigger side for me. On the fixed blade side i need something which can be drawn while on a bike which is why i looked at a neck knife fixed blade, easy draw on the bike and more concealable than my folders which would be hard to reach when i am riding due to tight spaces being made more tight, thus my fixed blade options are cold steel counter tac II, crkt crawford N.E.C.K black or the crkt dogfisf neck serrated. opinions would be ver helpful, thanks for your time gents

hi there. Based on the fact that you cannot shoot your firearm while you're waitin, and God knows how long you'll wait... Here's my recommendation directly based on your question............ Go with the AK47, and as a start, spend the rest on knife fighting courses. Using and deploying and knife isn't as easy as carrying it. In terms of training i recommend the ff... Learn attend knife fighting courses at DTC, find and join the AMOK fighting class near you and sign up NOW, and email SwatG and buy his combative/knife dvd

LR why do you pretend to be asleep when called then reply on gunsite hahahaha, go to bed. anyway i like the idea of the ak47 but much prefer the m16 saw one like yours for around R250 the problem with the ak is it is a fold blade and when on the bike or in a car difficulties exist when trying to get hold especially if in the jeans pocket, will attend the classes, are you gonna join me?

I've heard fixed blades are good for defense. No chance of the mechanism failing like on a folder
